Cranston, Rhode Island—Social media creator Matt Wurnig brought his popular series, “50 Dates 50 States,” to Cranston on Tuesday, marking the 22nd stop in the series’ third season. The series has achieved remarkable popularity, racking up close to 400 million views across various social media platforms.

During his Cranston visit, Wurnig went on a date with Abby Rogan, who had applied through his official website. Their date featured activities at Topgolf, followed by dinner in Cranston, showcasing the local options available to newcomers. Wurnig expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to meet interesting women and go on unique dates, referring to himself as a “very lucky guy.”

The “50 Dates 50 States” series was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially involving virtual dates that connected Wurnig with women across the country. He started this project with the intention to “explore and expand [his] horizons” while providing a platform to share diverse experiences and connections from different states.

Matt Wurnig has amassed over 650,000 followers on TikTok, reflecting the appeal of his engaging content. Each year, he selects 50 different women for dates in various states, adding a creative twist to the conventional dating format. This season introduces a significant change as he will only keep five of the fifty women for a special retreat planned in South Dakota at the end of the season.

Originally from Montana, Wurnig currently resides in Minnesota. His content creation revolves around driving, dating, and producing social media videos. The concept for his series emerged from his experiences using Tinder during the pandemic, a tool that allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life nationwide.

In a previous visit to Rhode Island during the second season, Wurnig made a trip to Newport and has since considered the state a “hidden gem.” With his current journey continuing towards Massachusetts, there are speculations about the future of his series. Wurnig hinted that this might be his last season on the road and teased the possibility of a season four, where he might serve as host alongside another bachelor.

As Wurnig’s series continues, it remains to be seen how he will adapt his concept moving forward while still engaging his broad audience who frequently tune in to witness his adventures across the country. The anticipation grows regarding what new experiences await both Wurnig and his followers as he travels to the next state on his list.
