Bellingham, MA – Edward Arthur Langlais, aged 62, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, after a brief illness. He died peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI, surrounded by family.

Born on July 2, 1963, Edward Langlais was known as a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He built a successful career as an entrepreneur, founding and operating a local auto sales and repair business where he was recognized for his dedication, expertise, and commitment to customer satisfaction. Edward’s legacy in the automotive industry left a lasting impact on the Bellingham community.

Edward attended Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick, RI, where his competitive spirit on the basketball court earned him the nickname “Rocky (Balboa).” Following high school, he furthered his education at the University of Rhode Island, where he cultivated a passion for learning and personal development.

A devoted sports enthusiast, Edward was an avid fan of football, especially the New England Patriots. His love for sports mirrored his commitment to family and community, as he nurtured relationships with friends and loved ones throughout his life.

He is survived by his father, Arthur Rosario Langlais, his children, Brittany Marie Langlais and Scott Edward Langlais, and his granddaughter, Naomi Matos. Edward also had a close relationship with Kathy McCarthy, who provided companionship in his life. He leaves behind his siblings: sister Diane Quintanar (married to Gerard Quintanar), brother Gerard Langlais (married to Josephine Iannelli), and sister Sandra Kister (married to Mark Kister), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Marie Langlais (née Lafond), and his daughter, Erica Rose Langlais. These losses were deeply felt by Edward, yet his love for his remaining family and friends remained steadfast until his passing.

Visitation services for Edward are scheduled for Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home, located at 45 Curson Street, West Warwick, RI 02893. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 144 Danielson Pike (Rt. 6), North Scituate, RI 02857.

In honor of Edward’s lifelong love of dogs, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to RISPCA Animal Rescue at 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886. Online condolences can be shared at the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home website.
