Alarcon attempted to pass another vehicle on Newport Avenue, leading to a violent collision that deployed the airbags in his truck. The vehicle subsequently hopped a curb, went through the home’s fireplace, and came to rest inside the living space, with debris crashing through the windshield. Additionally, a wrong-way driver caused a serious two-vehicle crash on Interstate 295 in Lincoln, Rhode Island, early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. when a vehicle traveling south in the northbound lanes collided with another vehicle near the weigh station. Both drivers were subsequently taken to an area hospital, reporting pain. The wrong-way driver, identified as Raul Hernandez from Pawtucket, faces multiple charges, including reckless driving, driving under the influence, and operating on a suspended license.
