Directed by resident company member Jackie Davis, this captivating production explores themes of race and gender as they relate to Black women in today’s society, reflecting on the pivotal cultural dynamics of the past.

The play is set in 1930 New York City during the height of the Harlem Renaissance and the turmoil of the Great Depression. It follows the lives of four friends who encounter a mysterious stranger from Alabama, whose arrival disrupts their established lives and relationships. The production has already gained attention, with a leading publication describing it as a “can’t miss” experience.

Director Davis, an accomplished actor, director, choreographer, and intimacy coordinator, has spoken about the work’s intense and captivating essence, comparing its allure to that of an old Hollywood film.
