The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Keith Lockhart, will bring the spirit of the season to life. This concert is set to capture the warmth and cheerfulness that are synonymous with the holidays in New England. The performance will feature iconic holiday music, including the signature piece “Sleigh Ride” as well as new arrangements of classic seasonal favorites. In addition, a traditional Holiday Sing-Along will be led in collaboration with the Metropolitan Chorale.

This year’s performance is particularly special, as it marks Keith Lockhart’s 30th anniversary as the conductor of the Boston Pops. During his tenure, Lockhart has overseen over 2,250 performances, including 45 national tours to over 150 cities and five international tours. Notably, he has been featured in 80 television shows and participated in high-profile events such as the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, and the World Series. In addition, the Boston Pops’ annual July 4 fireworks spectacular draws crowds of over half a million attendees.

The upcoming holiday concert is just one of many cultural events happening in Providence this December. Currently, Trinity Rep is staging *Blues for an Alabama Sky* by Pearl Cleage, while the Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre has extended performances of Tony Kushner’s acclaimed play *Angels in America, Part One: Millennium Approaches*. Meanwhile, the Wilbury Theatre Group is gearing up for its production of the musical *American Idiot*, based on Green Day’s concept album.

Singer-actress Melissa Errico is set to perform several upcoming shows, including *Sondheim in the City* on June 8, 2025. Known for her roles in Broadway hits such as *My Fair Lady*, *Dracula*, and *Les Misérables*, Errico’s recent concert, *The Story of a Rose: A Musical Reverie on The Great War*, received acclaim. She will also perform *Melissa Sings Sondheim* at 54 Below on June 20-21, 2025, and alongside Alec Baldwin in *The Fitzgeralds: A Reading with Music* on August 16, 2025.

In addition to the Boston Pops concert, other holiday performances include soprano Liz Callaway, who will be a guest soloist at The Venice Symphony’s “Home for the Holidays” concert in December. Callaway is a Broadway veteran known for her roles in *Baby* and as the singing voice of Anastasia in the animated film. Further, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra will conduct two Holiday POPS! concerts on December 14, 2025, featuring Broadway vocalist Andrea Ross at Richardson Auditorium at Princeton University. The Princeton High School Choir will join in for a Christmas carol sing-along during the event. Tickets for the Princeton concerts will range from $30 to $110, with available discounts for youth.

This holiday season promises to be filled with musical celebrations, making the Boston Pops Holiday Concert a festive highlight in Providence, bringing the community together to celebrate the joy of the holidays through music.
