In addition to the trafficking charges, Soriano-Neto faces two counts of indecent solicitation of a child.
The arrest in Providence follows a prior incident on February 20, when local police apprehended Soriano-Neto. ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde underlined that the accusations against Soriano-Neto, involving the trafficking of a child for “nefarious reasons,” pose a severe threat to public safety. Hyde highlighted the vulnerability of children, stating that any harm towards them represents a significant community risk.

Soriano-Neto originally entered the United States illegally and was first apprehended by ICE agents in California on October 25, 2017. Following her 2017 arrest, she received a notice to appear before an immigration judge on November 9 of the same year. She was subsequently released on parole on November 17, 2017.
Currently, Soriano-Neto remains in ICE custody while she awaits removal proceedings.
