Toronto and Boca Raton, FL – Maynard “Chuck” Albert, a beloved family man and influential media personality, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on September 23, 2025. He died surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a remarkable career in the media and advertising industries.

Born on May 1, 1933, in Providence, RI, Chuck was the only child of Harry and Dora (Gershman) Albert. His early years were marked by his exceptional talent in sports, particularly baseball, where he earned the nickname “The Chucker” for his pitching skills on The University of Rhode Island Rams baseball team. He began his college studies at the University of Rhode Island in 1951 but transferred to Emerson College in Boston in the fall of 1952.

In 1954, Chuck paused his academic pursuits to volunteer for the draft, serving in Manheim, Germany, as a Specialist 2nd Class in an intelligence unit for 18 months. He was tasked with keeping records of reconnaissance aircraft and ultimately rose to the rank of corporal before receiving an honorable discharge in 1956. After returning to Emerson College, he graduated in May 1957 with a BA in English and TV Broadcasting, in addition to a Bachelor of Literary Interpretation (BLI).

His professional journey began shortly after graduation when he took on the role of a disc jockey at WICE Radio Station in Providence, RI, known as “Al May” in the Morning. In the summer of 1957, Chuck moved to West Hartford, CT, and began his longstanding career with WTIC-TV, a tenure that lasted until 1973. Following this, he founded his own advertising agency, initially named Maynard B. Albert Associates, later rebranding it as The Albert Group, which operated in Hartford/Bloomfield, CT, until 1998.

Chuck did not retire after closing his agency; he continued his professional contributions as the Director of Marketing for Desai Systems from 1998 to 2004 and for Charter Oak College from 2004 to 2011. His vibrant personality and industry knowledge left a significant mark on those around him, and he actively participated as a member of The Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford, CT.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Chuck was a devoted family man. He married Elaine Jacobs in 1960, and together they raised two daughters, Lauren and Dayna, in West Hartford. Chuck and Elaine shared 46 years of marriage until her passing in 2006. In 2018, he found love again and married Helen Frank, enjoying a fulfilling life between Toronto and Florida. Chuck was known for his humorous limericks and his unwavering support for the Red Sox. Affectionately called “Poppy” by his five grandsons, Chuck was loved widely by those who knew him.

Chuck is predeceased by his first wife, Elaine Albert, and is survived by daughters Lauren Rosen (David) in Toms River, NJ, and Dayna Patashnik (Dave) in Stamford, CT, along with grandchildren Adam, Ethan, Eli, Aaron, and Andrew. He is also survived by his second wife, Helen Frank, and her sons Robert and Steven Frank, along with their grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service with full military honors will be held on September 28, 2025, at 3 pm at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery in Wethersfield, CT, officiated by Rabbi David Small. A Zoom link for the service will be available on the Emanuel Synagogue website. Following the interment, the family will host a meal of consolation and a minyan service at The Emanuel Synagogue.

Shiva will be observed on September 29 at the homes of Dayna and Dave Patashnik, and Lauren and David Rosen. In honor of Chuck’s memory, donations may be made to Friends of the IDF or to a charity of one’s choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and community engagement.
