Cranston – Cheryl A. Saccoccia Stabile, 49, of Cranston, passed away on October 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and service. She was born in Providence and was the daughter of Richard Saccoccia and the late Eileen (Levesque) Saccoccia. As a devoted mother, she will be remembered most for her loving relationship with her children, Jacob M. Stabile and Olivia G. Avella.
Survived by her sister Karen A. Caranci and her husband Joseph, Cheryl also leaves behind her niece Mia and nephew Nicholas. Her stepmother, Mary B. Saccoccia, mourns her loss as well. Cheryl faced the heartbreak of losing her brother Michael R. Saccoccia at the age of 15, a tragedy that brought her family closer together. The loss of her mother, Eileen, when Cheryl was 34, further solidified these familial bonds.
Cheryl was known for her warm-hearted nature and open-mindedness. Her early career began at 15 when she worked as a waitress at Newport Creamery and continued in the hospitality industry as a bartender, where she formed lifelong friendships. She also worked at her grandfather’s store, Mineral Spring Liquors in North Providence, before transitioning to healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). In this role, she was able to help others with compassion, a testament to her passion for aiding those in need.
Most recently, Cheryl dedicated several years of her career to the State of Rhode Island in the Department of Human Services, where she continued her commitment to serving the community. Despite her various professional roles, Cheryl’s greatest love was undoubtedly her children, and she centered her life around them, making countless memories and imparting valuable lessons.
Cheryl’s funeral services are set to take place at Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, on October 11, 2025, at 9:00 am. Following the service, a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Mary’s Church, Cranston, at 10:00 am, with burial to follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. Visitation hours are scheduled for October 10, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
