East Providence, R.I. kicked off Pride Month on June 7, 2025, with a vibrant flag raising ceremony at City Hall, signaling the start of a month-long celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community. The ceremony began at 10 a.m. and featured keynote speaker David Cicilline, President & CEO of the Rhode Island Foundation, who highlighted the significance of such events in fostering community and inclusivity.
Among the distinguished attendees at the ceremony were East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva, Senate President Val Lawson, and Rhode Island House Majority Leader Katherine Kazarian, all of whom emphasized the importance of Pride celebrations in the face of ongoing societal intolerance.

Other local events include the Newport Pride parade on June 28 and the South County Pride Festival and West Warwick’s Pride celebration, both taking place on June 14.
