She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank G. Marchetti, and their three children: Elizabeth A. Marchetti, Michael F. Marchetti, and Christopher F. Marchetti. The family also includes her cherished grandchildren, Marissa, Michael, and Lucas, as well as her brother, Alfonso Mastrostefano.
Born in Providence, Elissa was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Raffaelina (Cascella) Mastrostefano. Her career began at her father’s bakery on Federal Hill, where she developed a passion for baking that persisted throughout her life. She later pursued a career in nursing, graduating from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing and serving as a Registered Nurse for 43 years before retiring in 2008.
Elissa and Frank shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, where they built a life rich in love and family. Elissa’s joy was often found in spending time with her family, whether it was baking, playing card games with her cousins, or cheering for the New England Patriots, particularly during Tom Brady’s playing years. In her later years, she found solace in reading and completing word searches from her favorite spot on the couch.
Her kindness and generosity extended beyond her family, as she touched the lives of many throughout her nursing career and personal relationships, leaving behind a wealth of cherished memories.
Funeral Arrangements
Visitation services for Elissa are scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Pontarelli-Marino Home in Providence. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, also in Providence. Burial will proceed at St. Ann Cemetery.
