Graduates are encouraged to embrace their future pathways, whether continuing education or entering the workforce. The New Hampshire graduations also highlighted student achievements, with valedictorian and salutatorian sharing inspiring messages. This graduation season reinforces the power of education in fostering ambition and resilience among young individuals in the community.
Southern New England is abuzz with excitement as graduation season kicks into high gear, with numerous schools across the region celebrating the accomplishments of their latest graduating classes. The University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College, Providence College, Wheaton College, Bristol Community College, Stonehill College, and Salve Regina University are among the institutions hosting ceremonies this weekend to honor the Class of 2025.
Commencement events across Southern New England kicked off earlier this month. Johnson and Wales University held its ceremony on May 3, and Roger Williams University celebrated its graduates on the preceding Friday. Meanwhile, the New England Institute of Technology hosted its graduation on May 4, featuring former Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker as the keynote speaker, who shared insights and encouragement with attendees.
Looking ahead, the Community College of Rhode Island and the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth are scheduled to hold their respective ceremonies on May 15. Additionally, Brown University will conclude this year’s graduation festivities with its ceremony set for Sunday, May 25. During the weekend ceremonies at Rhode Island College and Salve Regina University, Governor Dan McKee is expected to address graduates, offering words of wisdom as they transition into the next chapters of their lives.
In Claremont, New Hampshire, graduations were also taking place at Stevens High School, where 95 students crossed the stage to receive their diplomas. The atmosphere in Carr gymnasium was particularly warm as graduates and guests gathered to celebrate this significant milestone. Valedictorian Aubree Herzog encouraged her peers to explore diverse interests and seize opportunities, while salutatorian Sara Gaspard shared her personal experiences of stepping beyond her comfort zone and emphasized the significance of self-advocacy.
The ceremony included a formal presentation of diplomas as well as the prestigious Edgar L. Lord Faculty Award, awarded to Isabella Bovell for exemplifying the school’s core values. Superintendent Chris Pratt congratulated all graduates for their dedication and hard work, inspiring them to maintain a sense of curiosity in their future endeavors. The evening concluded with a sentimental send-off, as graduates departed to Green Day’s song “Good Riddance,” reflecting on their time spent together at high school.
This graduation season marks a pivotal transition for many students, who are now preparing for various futures, whether that includes pursuing higher education or entering the workforce. As Southern New England schools celebrate academic achievements and personal growth, communities are reminded of the importance of education in empowering young individuals to chase their goals.
The Class of 2025 represents a diverse group, continuing the tradition of academic excellence across the region. As graduation ceremonies unfold, students are not only applauded for their accomplishments but are also encouraged to embrace new adventures ahead, fostering a spirit of resilience and ambition within their communities.
