Governor McKee emphasizes Macari’s extensive experience and energetic approach, highlighting his notable track record in executive business management over more than three decades. His nomination has now been forwarded to the Rhode Island Senate for advice and consent.
Jason Macari is the president and CEO of both Macari Properties Inc. and Baby Delight Inc., companies known for their commitment to quality and innovation. Additionally, he owns Phantom Farms Inc. and Phantom Farms Brewing Inc., which are based in Cumberland. Under Macari’s leadership, his businesses have grown significantly, reflecting his management skills and business acumen.
Previously, Macari served as the CEO and founder of Summer Infant Inc., a prominent company located in Woonsocket. His role at Summer Infant was pivotal in shaping the company’s direction and operational success. Before founding Summer Infant, he was the vice president of product development and general manager at Safety 1st Inc. in Boston, where he oversaw key aspects of product management including research, marketing, and quality control, further showcasing his broad skill set.
Macari’s experience is also highlighted by his work as a project engineer for Hasbro, where he was involved with the development of popular products such as G.I. Joe and Transformers. Moreover, he held the position of manufacturing engineering manager at BARD Inc., overseeing operations across three plants. This diverse background equips him with the knowledge necessary to address the challenges faced by the board and to contribute to its mission of strengthening Rhode Island’s economy.
Educationally, Macari holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, which he completed in 1984. He furthered his academic credentials with a Master of Business Administration from Bryant University in 1990. His commitment to excellence in business has not gone unnoticed; in 2007, he was honored as Businessman of the Year by the Providence Chamber of Commerce.
