Exciting Times at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln!
Lincoln, a charming little town, is buzzing with excitement as Mike Bradshaw has recently been recognized as the New England PGA’s Golf Professional of the Year. With over 20 years of experience at Kirkbrae Country Club, Bradshaw has certainly earned this honor. He first took on the role of Head Professional back in 2006 and has worked tirelessly to enhance the club’s reputation ever since. In 2020, he took on the dual roles of Chief Operating Officer and Director of Golf, guiding Kirkbrae to new heights.
A Leader in Golfing Community
Bradshaw’s commitment to the sport extends beyond the clubhouse. He served as the President of the NEPGA from 2021 to 2023, demonstrating his leadership within the golfing community. Now, as he wraps up his term as Honorary President, he remains one of just 15 individuals recognized by the NEPGA in 2026 for excellence.
The festivities for this honor will culminate at the NEPGA Special Awards Banquet, taking place on October 24, 2026, at The Haven Country Club in Massachusetts.
Mark Your Calendars for U.S. Open Local Qualifier!
But that’s not all! Kirkbrae Country Club has some thrilling events lined up. For the fourth consecutive year, they will be hosting a U.S. Open Local Qualifier on May 13, 2026. The competition kicks off bright and early at 7:30 a.m., featuring approximately 90 players who will compete for five coveted spots in the U.S. Open Final Qualifying. This exciting event is open to the public, so grab your friends and head down to cheer on the participants!
One unique aspect of the qualifier is the nail-biting playoff situations that have happened in past qualifiers, often due to tied scores for the final spots. Spectators will enjoy watching the action from strategic spots including the clubhouse and the areas between the 10th hole and 16th green, and near the fourth hole.
Course Enhancements Unveiled
This year, players will tackle the impressive course setup from the gold tees at approximately 6,700 yards. With recent enhancements, including a new run-off area on the left side of the second hole and the removal of some trees to boost playability, it’s sure to be a thrilling day for competitors and spectators alike!
Community Support After Recent Challenges
In light of recent events, it’s been a tough time for Kirkbrae Country Club that recently faced fire damage affecting their ability to host weddings and large events through the end of September. About 100 events, including a stunning 46 weddings, have been impacted. The fire primarily affected the kitchen area and caused extensive water and smoke damage throughout the clubhouse.
Kirkbrae’s management is actively working to assist affected couples in postponing or relocating their special days, ensuring no one has to face the disappointment alone. The community has rallied around Kirkbrae, showing tremendous support during this challenging time.
As investigations into the cause of the fire continue, the great news is that there is no indication it was intentionally set. So, while uncertainty lingers, the heartwarming sense of community remains strong.

With events lined up and strong leadership in the golf community, Kirkbrae Country Club continues to be a shining star in Lincoln. Whether it’s the welcoming arms of its dedicated staff, the thrilling qualifiers, or the ever-present support from the community, there’s a lot of excitement ahead for both the club and its patrons!
