Ruth A. Iacobbo
Ruth A. (Pontarelli) Iacobbo, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter R. Iacobbo. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during her funeral scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Visitation will be held at the Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Augustine Church, located at 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Ruth will be laid to rest at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.

Robert “Bob” Lajoie
Robert “Bob” Lajoie, age 83, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Providence. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Isadore and Estella (Vieira) Lajoie. Bob was the beloved husband of the late Constance “Connie” (Couture) Lajoie for over 60 years and proudly served as an Army veteran during the Vietnam War.
A devout Catholic, Bob actively engaged in community service as a member of the former Notre Dame Church, participating in retreat programs, Cursillo, and prison ministry. He was admired for his heart for service and was well-known for coaching baseball, as well as his joy for dancing, especially with Connie. Bob is survived by his sons Kevin Lajoie and Christopher Lajoie and wife Loriann, his sister Patricia Pavao, and numerous grandchildren. His grandchildren include Rachel, Scott Jr., Jessica, Kayla, Ashlan, Brittany, Kory, and his great-grandchildren consist of Mikayla, Taylor, Jaylean, Jalissa, Hayden, Layla, Kameron, and Mila.
Preceding him in death were his son Scott Lajoie and his brother Gerard Lajoie. In accordance with the family’s wishes, Bob’s services will be private.
Gregory George Nason
Gregory George Nason, age 56, of North Providence, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Providence, he was the son of George A. Nason and the late Ann (Manfredo) Nason. Greg was known for his passionate love of sports, which he eagerly shared with family and friends. He was well-regarded for his caring heart, good sense of humor, and love for laughter.
Greg desired to be remembered as a dedicated son to his parents. He is survived by his brother David G. Nason and sister-in-law Nicole Nason, as well as three nieces and nephews: Alex, Abby, and Brady. He also leaves behind his Uncle Danny Nason. A Celebration of Life for Greg will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Pontarelli-Marino Funeral Home, with a service following at 12:00 PM. Burial will be private, and online condolences and tributes can be sent to www.pontarellimarinofunerals.com.
