The deceased has been identified as 61-year-old Michael Perry from Cranston. According to police reports, Perry was driving north on Post Road when a medical incident occurred, leading him to cross the center line. His vehicle subsequently collided head-on with another car, which was then pushed into a third vehicle. Perry was transported to Rhode Island Hospital but was pronounced dead around 2:30 p.m.

Emergency responders from the Warwick Fire Department, including multiple firetrucks and police officers, arrived at the scene located in front of Fire Station 2. The crash caused multiple lanes on Post Road to close, resulting in significant traffic delays, as witnesses reported seeing a large police presence and ongoing traffic backups.

As the investigation into the accident continues, the Warwick Police Department is seeking information from any witnesses who may have seen the crash unfold. The authorities are focused on understanding the sequence of events that led to this unfortunate incident.
