Ernie married Margaret “Peg” Carroll in July 1964, and together they had three children: Stephen, born in 1965, Kevin, born in 1968, and Megan, born in 1971. His career spanned 38 years as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 99, and he was known for his dedication to volunteering, including coaching Pop Warner football and supporting his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. Ernie was also an avid fisherman, engaging with the Wood River Fly Fishing Club and contributing as a fly tyer. He is survived by his wife, Peg, three children along with their spouses, and eight grandchildren: Jackson, Liliane, Adrienne, Angela, William, Nathaniel, Mairéad, and Matthew. Additionally, he is survived by brothers, Dennis and Lawrence, his uncle Edward Brewster, and a wide circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Mary Brewster, and several in-laws. Ernie’s Mass of Christian Burial has been scheduled for September 18, 2025, at St. Francis de Sales Church in North Kingstown, with burial to follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
