West Warwick – Patricia Ann (Zannini) Kershaw, an 83-year-old resident of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Known for her dedication to her profession and her family, Kershaw leaves behind a legacy of compassion and active community involvement.
Kershaw was born in Providence to Emilio and Flora Antonia (Ferretti) Zannini, both of whom have since deceased. After her education at the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, she embarked on a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.), serving at Kent Hospital for over 25 years. Aside from her nursing career, she was also a passionate supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, contributing to the fight against pediatric diseases.
Family was at the heart of Kershaw’s life. She married her partner Edward J. Kershaw on September 5, 1964. Together, they raised three children: Pamela Beth Kershaw of West Warwick, Susan Paige Kershaw Sczuroski (Charles Jr.) of Brooklyn, CT, and Brian G. Kershaw (Karen) of West Warwick. Kershaw took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, cherishing her time with Olivia, Elle, and Jack.
In addition to her immediate family, Kershaw is survived by her niece and goddaughter, Bethany (Carnavale) Robinson, as well as being the sister of the late Cynthia J. Carnavale. The Kershaw family has expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Home Health Aides from Saint Elizabeth Home and Concord Home Health and Wellness Services for their support during Patricia’s illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor on September 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, located at 360 Cowesett Rd, Warwick. Prior to the Mass, family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, situated at 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Following the service, Patricia Kershaw will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery in West Warwick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, located at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, reflecting Kershaw’s commitment to supporting children’s health.
