PROVIDENCE, RI – The community of Providence is grieving the passing of two cherished longtime residents, Kathleen Rose Napolitano and Vincent A. Colagiovanni. Their contributions to the local community and the love they shared with their families have left a significant impact that will be felt for years to come.
Kathleen Rose Napolitano passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born on September 13, 1943, in Providence, RI, and was the beloved daughter of the late Katherine DiNuccio. Known as the heart of her family, Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She embodied unconditional love, deep faith, and quiet strength throughout her life.
For 25 years, Kathleen co-owned “Jewels by Kathleen,” a local business beloved by the community. Most recently, she worked in the children’s department at the North Providence Public Library, where she continued her commitment to supporting families and children. Kathleen married Anthony “Nappy” Napolitano when they were just 13 years old, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage in April 2025. She is survived by her husband Anthony, daughters Tonianne K. Napolitano and Janine Napolitano (wife of Kevin Cusati), and four grandchildren Isabella, Amaya Moniz, Perry, and Lucia Cusati.
The funeral service for Kathleen will be held at A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 7:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston. Visiting hours are scheduled for Sunday, October 5, from 3:00-6:00 PM. In honor of Kathleen, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Vincent A. Colagiovanni passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at Kent Hospital at the age of 72. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Vincent J. and Corrine E. (Barbato) Colagiovanni. Vincent was the co-owner and operator of Lincoln Packing Company in Cranston for many years before retiring. He was known as a kind soul, always prioritizing the needs of others before his own.
Vincent is survived by his Aunt Lucy Colagiovanni, lifelong friends Daniel and Gail Grzych, his Godson Daniel Grzych, Jr., and many loving cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, John P. Colagiovanni. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 10, 2025, at St. Augustine Church at 10:00 AM. Per Vincent’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours, and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Vincent’s name to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
The Naitonal Heartland community has lost two remarkable individuals who embodied love, service, and dedication to their families and community. Their legacies of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew them.
