Warwick, Rhode Island – The Rhode Island community is mourning the loss of three respected individuals: George M. Lucas, Raymond E. Gallucci, Sr., and Thomas J. Stebbins, Jr., who recently passed away at the ages of 87, 88, and 69, respectively.

George M. Lucas

George M. Lucas passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. A resident of Providence, George was married to Phyllis C. (Osenkoski) Lucas for 60 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, George M. Lucas (Amy Doorley-Lucas), Paul A. Lucas (Kelly Wiggins), and James M. Lucas, as well as grandchildren Kerrin, Connor, and Nicholas Lucas, and great-granddaughter Lilliana Lucas.

Born to Anthony G. and Helen G. (Patrick) Lucas, both now deceased, George was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College. He served in Active Duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961, displaying his commitment to service.

Most of his career was spent at Kemper Insurance, where he retired after 33 years. He was a lifetime member of the Rhode Island Fish and Game Protective Association and enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, quahogging, and tending to his vegetable gardens. After retirement, he traveled extensively with his wife, sharing many memorable experiences together.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for October 6, 2025, at Saints John & Paul Church in Coventry, followed by burial with Military Funeral Honors at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Raymond E. Gallucci, Sr.

Raymond E. Gallucci, Sr. of Warwick passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 88. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Carol A. (Lancellotta) Gallucci, along with children Raymond E. Gallucci, Jr. (Deborah), Cynthia A. Gallucci, and Robert W. Gallucci (Melanie), as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bred in Warwick, Raymond was the son of former Police Chief Joseph E. Gallucci and Angelina (Angiolilli) Gallucci. He graduated from Lockwood High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance from Bryant College in 1957. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army National Guard.

Throughout his professional life, Raymond held several key positions, including Sales Manager at Narragansett Brewing Company in Maine and later as Vice President of Lancellotta Paving Company Inc. In 1990, he founded Raymond E. Gallucci, Inc. He involved himself in local politics, serving on the City Council from 2004 to 2012, in addition to being active in the East Natick Veterans Association and Warwick Sewer Authority. He was a member of both St. Catherine’s Church and St. Gregory the Great Church in Warwick.

Raymond’s funeral is set for October 4, 2025, at St. Gregory the Great Church, preceded by visitation at the funeral home on October 3.

Thomas J. Stebbins, Jr.

Thomas J. Stebbins, Jr. passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 69. He was married to Paula (Sullivan) Stebbins for 42 years. Originally from Quantico, VA, he grew up in a Navy family, moving across several states including Virginia, Florida, and Hawaii. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Stebbins, her partner Kevin Hoyt, and four sisters.

Thomas began his career as a butcher at Almacs Supermarket before starting his own floor refinishing business for 15 years. He later returned to his roots as a butcher at Stop and Shop, from which he retired in 2023. Known for his love of cooking, old movies, and fishing, he enjoyed spending his leisure time on the water in his fishing boat. He was also involved with the Middletown Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and worked as a baseball umpire.

Visiting hours for Thomas are scheduled for October 5, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a prayer service that evening. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The contributions and legacies of George M. Lucas, Raymond E. Gallucci, Sr., and Thomas J. Stebbins, Jr. have woven rich narratives into the tapestry of their communities. Their memory will undoubtedly be cherished by family and friends alike.
