Seekonk Community Remembers Three Esteemed Residents

Seekonk, MA – The community of Seekonk is grieving the loss of three of its long-serving residents, Jena Elaine McNulty, Richard Maxwell Longbottom, Jr., and Andrew P. Gagnon Jr., who all passed away in 2025. Their contributions to family and society have left lasting impressions that will not be forgotten.

Jena Elaine McNulty

Jena Elaine (Bertini) McNulty, age 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Providence, RI, Jena lived a life marked by love, generosity, and devotion. Her family remembers her for her kindness, strength, wit, and warmth.

Jena graduated from Saint Raphael Academy and the Sawyer School for Medical Education, and began her career in her father’s orthopedic practice. Subsequently, she worked at Care New England at Women & Infants Hospital, serving the director of internal medicine. She cherished her time spent with family and friends at their family Cape house and enjoyed long drives throughout New England.

Jena is survived by her husband, Michael Sr., her children Michael Jr. and Jonathan (Sarah), and five grandchildren: Michael 3rd, Gwen, Laurel, Jonathan Jr., and Callan. Her siblings, Lori Rolfe (Steve) and Richard Jr. (Kimberly), also survive her. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Lois Bertini. A celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:30 am at Swan Point Cemetery’s Historic Chapel, followed by a gathering in the Grey Coale reception hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jena’s memory may be made to the Massachusetts Brain Injury Association BIA-MA.

Richard Maxwell Longbottom, Jr.

Richard Maxwell Longbottom, Jr., age 72, also passed away peacefully, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Richard was a devoted husband to Elizabeth Anne (Cuddy) Longbottom, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and grew up in Seekonk.

Spending 50 years as a Project Engineer with Altium Packaging, Richard was recognized in February 2025 with a lifetime achievement award for his dedicated service. A motorcycle enthusiast, he enjoyed motocross from a young age and continued to ride for leisure while also being an avid golfer.

Richard is survived by his daughters Michele Longbottom-Lopes (George “Jorge” Lopes), Allison “Boo” Longbottom (Tasha Daigle), and Chelsey Phillips (Danielle Haydt), as well as his sister Nora Zellmer (Jim) and daughter-in-law Gina Longbottom. He also had grandsons Samuel Longbottom, Matthieu Nadeau, Cameron Nadeau, Micah Longbottom, and Caleb Longbottom. Richard was preceded in death by his son, Keith Longbottom. A gathering to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 1 pm at 253 N Wheaton Ave, Seekonk, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation or Dana Farber Jimmy Fund.

Andrew P. Gagnon Jr.

Andrew P. Gagnon Jr., aged 88, passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Stephanie (Green) Gagnon. Originally from Fall River, MA, Andrew had lived in Seekonk for 65 years and enjoyed summers on Cape Cod.

Andrew was a dedicated Control System Engineer for C.D.M., Boston for 40 years before his retirement in 2006. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and was a proud member of the Registered Engineers Association. His passions included cars, wooden boats, and spending time with family on Cape Cod, and he was a former member of the Massachusetts National Guard.

He is survived by his son Andrew P. Gagnon III (Lynne) and five grandchildren: Michael, Amy, Matthew Falcao, and twins Andrew P. Gagnon IV and Emily Gagnon. Andrew was also a proud great-grandfather to Thomas and Ellie Falcao. He was predeceased by his daughter, Alyce Falcao, and his sister Judith Davidson. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, June 23, 2025, at W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home.

The contributions of Jena, Richard, and Andrew have deeply touched the lives of many within the Seekonk community. Their legacies will continue to inspire those who knew and loved them.
