Munroe was the devoted husband of Linda L. (McGee) Munroe and was born in Providence to the late Donald G. and Beverly J. (Leasor) Munroe. He is survived by his son Michael Munroe and also had a late son, Thomas Munroe. Additionally, his siblings—David Munroe, Deborah Rainville, and Karen Munroe—held a cherished place in his life, alongside his beloved grandson, Liam Munroe.

A long-time resident of Cranston, Munroe relocated to Warwick with his wife where he continued to be an active member of his community. He dedicated 33 years of his career as a truck driver with BB&S Treated Lumber, during which he was a loyal member of Teamsters Local 251 before retiring.

In his personal life, Munroe had a deep passion for NASCAR. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching races, which added joy to his life and spoke to his love for motorsports. His dedication to both his work and passions left a lasting impression on those around him.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during a Chapel Service scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The service will be held at Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, located at 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick. Before the service, there will be a visitation period from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, allowing family and friends to share their memories and condolences.

Following the service, a private burial will occur at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston, providing a quiet and respectful closure for the family. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in Stephen Munroe’s honor to the Leukemia Research Foundation via their website, aiding in research that may benefit others in the future.
