Warwick – Two men were arrested in separate incidents involving firearms and larceny over the weekend in Warwick. The first incident occurred on Saturday night when an 18-year-old man was taken into custody during a traffic stop, and the second involved a standoff with police early Sunday morning, leading to a dramatic resolution.
Tyreke Worley Arrested During Traffic Stop
Tyreke Worley, a resident of Warwick, was arrested shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday during a traffic stop on Centerville Road. Worley was wanted on multiple charges, including attempted larceny of more than $1,500 and tampering with a vehicle. The charges arose from ongoing investigations by the Warwick Police Department.
After his arrest, Worley was processed at the Wickford Barracks before being transferred to the custody of Warwick police. The circumstances surrounding the attempted larceny have not been disclosed, but they are currently under investigation by law enforcement.
SWAT Team Engaged in Standoff with Tyler Bagley
In a separate incident early Sunday morning, Warwick police responded to a domestic violence call at a home on Blake Street. The call was prompted by reports of an armed man, identified as 33-year-old Tyler Bagley, who allegedly pointed a firearm at a woman in the residence.
Upon arrival, police evacuated three residents from the house for their safety as Bagley barricaded himself in an attic area. In response to the situation, the Warwick Police SWAT team was deployed. Extensive negotiations were attempted; however, Bagley refused to exit the residence voluntarily.
After negotiations proved unsuccessful, SWAT personnel entered the home at approximately 9:30 a.m. and arrested Bagley without any further incident. During the arrest, Bagley was found in possession of a firearm and was subsequently transported to Kent Hospital for evaluation.
Charges Filed Against Bagley
Tyler Bagley now faces several charges, including Domestic Felony Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Crime of Violence, and Two Counts of Domestic Disorderly Conduct. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the standoff, and all residents involved were safely evacuated.
Ongoing Investigations
Both cases remain under investigation by the Warwick Police Department, with officials stating that additional details will be released as inquiries continue. These events serve as a reminder of the ongoing concerns surrounding gun violence and domestic disputes in the community.
As authorities work to wrap up their investigations, residents are encouraged to assist with any information that may further promote community safety.
