Born on September 3, 1941, in Providence, Rhode Island, Bill was known for his infectious enthusiasm and a joyful spirit that resonated with family and friends alike. He shared a deep appreciation for music and cherished dancing with his wife and children. A familiar figure, Bill was rarely seen without a good cigar, embodying a laid-back yet jovial demeanor that endeared him to many.
Throughout his career, Bill established himself as a professional of great integrity and work ethic. He began his professional journey at the Thermoid Division of H. K. Porter Co., where he quickly ascended the ranks to become District Manager. Following this position, he transitioned into an Advertising Sales role with New England Telephone, ultimately devoting 31 years of service to the company before his retirement.
Bill was a member of several esteemed organizations, including the Quidnessett Country Club, the East Greenwich Yacht Club, and the United States Power Squadron. His community engagement and contributions to these groups spoke volumes about his character and dedication to lifelong interests.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia (Blanchette) McCrave, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship. He leaves behind three daughters: Cynthia Anderson, married to Richard, and Lori McCrave, both residing in Charlestown, Rhode Island, as well as Kimberly Mallon, married to John, who lives in Delray Beach, Florida. The legacy he created extends to five grandchildren: Heather, Christopher, Lindsey, Kristy, and Bailey, and he fondly remembered as a great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren: Mila, Caiden, Zachary, and Colton.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Margaret (Conlan) McCrave, and two brothers, Charles and James McCrave. Bill’s warmth and charisma will be missed by all who loved and respected him.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visiting hours to honor Bill’s memory will take place on Thursday, October 2nd, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Friday, October 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Following the service, burial will take place at River Bend Cemetery in Westerly, Rhode Island.
